As 2015 draws to an end, it has got us feeling a little nostalgic about the year and all that has been achieved at Flemings over the last 12 months. If you have been keeping tabs on us, you will already be well informed about the completion of some of our major projects including the launch of our brand new Drawing Room. More significantly we have unveiled our new hotel design in all our ground and first floor guest rooms and suites; completing 35 in total to date. We have reinstated as much period detail as possible with original 3 metre high ceilings & cornicing; private patios in some of the ground floor rooms; brand new bathrooms – some with his & her showers and period marble fireplaces in some rooms. But our work is not yet complete with 2016 set to be an equally exciting, if not more so, year for us as we commence the second phase of our £14M refurbishment.
Perhaps the biggest of all our projects yet will be a new restaurant and bar concept, as designed by Tully Filmer, and due to be completed in May. The restaurant will also see a new street entrance making it more accessible for everyone, not just guests of the hotel. In keeping with the cosy basement location, the restaurant will adopt a more intimate feel featuring a deep green colour scheme with classical gold-studded leather armchairs and dark panelled walls.
Flemings Mayfair Hotel has appointed Michelin starred Shaun Rankin as Executive Chef to oversee this exciting new opening from Spring 2016. Shaun’s new venture with Flemings Hotel will run alongside his current Jersey restaurant. His love for the island and its local food will be reflected in the new Flemings Mayfair menu, by offering seasonal Jersey produce including fresh lobster, crab, oysters, hand-dived scallops, Jersey Royals and hand-picked shoreline and foraged herbs.
With the second stage of our refurbishment taking place in January, we will be offering ‘Nip & Tuck’ rates to all guests with up to 25% discount on room rates to anaesthetize the pain of any disturbance during the refurbishment.
We may have been established 1851 but we will re-establish ourselves all over again in 2016.
