Britain’s biggest street party is about to commence this August Bank Holiday; The Notting Hill Carnival 2015
The Notting Hill Carnival London originated in 1964 as a way for Afro-Caribbean communities to celebrate their own cultures and traditions . This has now become the largest street festival in Europe. The Notting Hill Carnival street festival London features an amazing array of sounds, colourful sights and social solidarity. The annual festival takes place every August Bank Holiday weekend in the streets of London W11.

Notting Hill Carnival Dates
Sunday 30th August 2015 – Jouvert
African drums and steel bands will fill the streets with music alongside traditional dancers. It is a grand opening to the street festival and the best time to dress up and enjoy the comical and extravagant costumes.
It starts at 6am and finishes at 9am at Canal way, Ladbroke Grove, W14.
Sunday 30th August 2015 – Children’s Day
The Carnival offers a fantastic day for families to enjoy the parade and music with their children. The parade will showcase the most beautiful costumes with dancers whirling to the rhythms of steel bands, blasted through numerous sound systems.
The “World Music Stage” at the Powis Square venue showcases a number of acts that feature soca and calypso performances by the Association of British Calypsonians.
You can experience the Caribbean not only via the music but through other senses as well; every corner hosts a stall that serves traditional food, drinks and much more.
Children’s Day starts at 10am and finishes at 8:30pm.
Monday 31st August 2015 – Parade & Grand Finale
60 bands in costumes dance to the rhythms of the mobile sound systems or steel bands at The Grand finale in a sea of vibrant colours. The “World Music Stage” at Powis Square continues to host a variety of performances.
The one-of-a-kind atmosphere at the Notting Hill Carnival gets reinforced with it’s 38 sound systems that host various artists and different genres.
On this day too you can enjoy an array of various foods and beverages that reflect the spirit of the Carnival.
