Congratulations to Kate Middleton and Prince William on their baby daughter, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana!
After much speculation on subjects such as due dates, gender and Royal baby names, the Royal family have stirred lots of excitement for many across not only Great Britain, but also the world. This time around Kate’s pregnancy was not as smooth as that with Prince George, however her labour was much quicker than her first experience. Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was born at 8.34am on Saturday, just two and a half hours after arriving at the Lindo Wing of Saint Mary’s Hospital.
Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana weighed in at 8lb 3oz. The public first knew of the birth by an official, and traditional, announcement by the town crier. This was then followed by an official declaration of the birth on an easel outside Buckingham Palace.
Prince William left the hospital to pick up Prince George so he could meet his new baby sister. Reports say that Prince George was very excited. Upon his arrival to the hospital he even gave the media a very cute wave.
Kate Middleton and Prince William came out to show their new baby girl to the world around 6pm on the Saturday. They then headed home to Kensington Palace as a family. Unfortunately Prince Harry has not yet met Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana due to commitments in Australia. However he has reported then he “can’t wait to meet her” and that she is “absolutely beautiful”.
The happy family are predicted to leave for their home in Norfolk tomorrow whereby they can spend some quality time together.
