Sunday at The Notting Hill Carnival is Children’s Day, with a shorter parade route. Bank Holiday Monday features the main parade, with the carnival bands kicking off their route around 9am.
The main attraction for many coming to the carnival is the food. There’s nothing quite like the smell of Notting Hill Carnival. The wonderful aromas of traditional Caribbean food grace the streets of West London intertwined with the beat of the music. The Notting Hill Carnival provides the perfect introduction to jerk chicken, rice and peas and rum punch. You may even be lucky enough to see Levi Roots himself! The Notting Hill Carnival has been his stomping ground many years before the world knew of his infamous Reggae Reggae sauce.
